Proceeds from the High Plains Music Fest in Hugoton will go toward benefitting organizations in the community and throughout southwest Kansas. This year these select groups will be receiving funding as a result of your attendence or sponsorship of the Music Festival. Come out and enjoy the show! And help us in giving back to Hugoton!
American Cancer Society
The American Cancer Society is the nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.
Relay For Life was a success as nearly $29,000 was raised with money still coming in. Relay for Life 2015 will be held on Friday, June 26, 2015.
A highlight of the event was the drawing for the Limo Rides donated by Paul's Funeral Home, compliments of the Robson family. Judy and Henry Cantrell of Moscow were thrilled to be the winners! Both are cancer survivors. Our volleyball tournament brought eight teams to the court to play.
Our thanks to the Hugoton Recreation Commission for the use of the Rec Gyms where the event was held. Also, thanks to Abengoa, with several employees becoming involved and representing their company well. Most of all, thanks to all who came by to support our cancer survivors and remember those who are no longer with us. We are looking forward to our next Relay for Life next June!

Southwest Miracle, Inc. is a local non-profit organization founded in March 2009, by local residents, Jane Eisenhauer, Tracy Gutierrez and Annette Wilson. We strive to have funds available to assist people in a time of need who might be dealing with an illness or medical condition. Those funds are used in many different ways i.e. gas cards for transportation to and from medical appointments or treatment, motel and eating expense for overnight travel. Also, we have helped pay rent and utilities. We also have a share closet with various medical equipment available to loan. No money is ever given directly to a recipient, checks are made payable to whomever the money is owed. These are just a few examples of what our foundation is about.
Our funding comes strictly from fundraisers or private donations. We have an annual fundraiser in February, including a dinner, dance, and silent and live auction. Also, we help with a local car show in May every year. Using the funds from these events is how we help families throughout the year.
